Division Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Social Worker to work within children Social Services based in Wigan MBC’s busy Fostering Service

Your role will be to supervise and support recruited Foster Carers to meet the needs of our looked after children and care leavers. This will also include Staying Put arrangements for our older cohort of young people as they prepare for independence. The role requires strong multi agency working across the service with the Children in Care and Care Leaving teams to ensure robust care planning.

You will prioritise safeguarding and placement stability whilst ensuring practice is regulatory compliant. You will be a child focussed practitioner with a focus on improving experiences and outcomes for children and young people. You will be a team player and innovative problem solver, able to work using initiative and have strong interpersonal skills to not only engage carers, but to build supportive relationships with colleagues.

The pay rate for this locum Social Worker job is £35 per hour and has an initial 3-month contract.

Requirements of the Social Worker:

• Degree or equivalent in social work
• Current Social Work England registration
• Significant experience working within a similar role
